  • I tuned in for the Tennessee/Vanderbilt(men)basketball game Saturday afternoon Jan 15th. Dick Vitele has the most irritating voice I have ever heard and he talks nonstop. Does he get paid by the word?? How do you shut him up?? Toward the middle of the second quarter I finally hit mute and enjoyed the remainder of the game in silence!!!!!!!!! So sad that he will be around thru 2015.

Dick Vitale made his last trip to Knoxville, TN yesterday. I can assure you that Tennessee will not allow him to cover a game in Knoxville after yesterday’s comments attacking Bruce Pearl and the University of Tennessee. Alumn and boosters were outraged yesterday and they should be. Again, i can promise you ESPN will not drag that trash into our house again.

  • Hall of Famer Dick Vitale, who 32 years ago took a gig at then-fledging as a temp job in-between basketball coaching assignments, has signed a new extension with the sports cable channel that will keep him at ESPN through the 2014-2015 season.

Probably no one can inspire an audience with enthusiasm and energy and teach us lessons of life and business that transcend athletics better than the inimitable, one-of-a-kind Dick Vitale.

Perhaps no one understands the game of life—and particularly how to play it with enthusiasm, energy and verve—than the inimitable Dick Vitale. Seemingly emblematic of his own last name in that he’s always full of vitality, Vitale shares with audiences his secrets for tacking the problems of life head-on, with the boundless optimism he seems to possess in large amounts. Vitale speaks enthusiastically about the lessons learned from sports and how to apply them to business and daily life. Dick uses a combination of humor and inspiration drawn from his career as a sixth grade teacher, a college and professional basketball coach, and years as one of the best known—and perhaps most beloved—network basketball analysts in history.

Dick Vitale has been on TV constantly for ESPN. I mean this is his busiest time of year. And the poor 74-year-old sure is showing signs of overuse.
